I intend to raise awareness of the issues surrounding pediatric cancer and donations to CURE Childhood Cancer, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
CURE www.curechildhoodcancer.org is dedicated to cutting edge research and to providing education and support to young patients and their families. CURE funds the development of “targeted therapies” that focus only on cancer cells and do not harm surrounding healthy tissue. Targeted therapies are critical to ensuring that patients are spared the devastating and often life-threatening “late effects” caused by current conventional therapies
There are many reasons to support CURE. Unlike most cancer charities, CURE is focused 100% on children’s cancer research, treatment, and training of future pediatric oncologists. CURE also offers programs that are specifically directed at the critical and urgent needs of kids with cancer and their parents.
Charity Navigator www.charitynavigator.org , America’s largest independent evaluator of charities, recently awarded CURE Childhood Cancer a Four-Star Rating, the highest mark available. This organization evaluates factors such as fundraising efficiency and sustainability of programs. CURE has received this coveted rating for the third straight year. It was designated exceptional in Efficiency, Capacity, and Overall Quality. Approximately 88% of donations made to CURE go directly to funding research, medical training, and programs aimed at the needs of sick children.
